Welcome, and thank you for stopping by!

I worked in broadcasting for roughly 24 years.  Most of my career, I have been a weather anchor, but I have also always worked as a reporter.  My great passion in life is for people. I love to hear and to tell their stories.  One thing I have learned is that we are all out for the same thing at the end of the day:  happiness. So, if you are wondering how I came up with “Love Your Life” for a site title, that is really all there is to it.

This whole site started as a simple blog, because I love to write.  Fortunately, that has evolved. I am now also a columnist for two great Michigan publications, “My City” and “Women 2 Women” magazines.  I have a book in the works, as well.

You may notice I have life coaching and officiating tabs on this page. I offer life coaching for individuals and groups. In case you are wondering, “what the heck is a life coach?” Think of it as a little outside help with your most important inside job: understanding yourself and where you want your life and relationships to go.  I currently lead a group quality of life class at Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute.

I coach couples as well.   It sort of just happens naturally,  through the process of my  getting to know them, as we plan their wedding ceremonies. Yes, I am also a wedding officiant with a twist- each ceremony is custom written to help tell a couple’s special  love story.

I officiate funerals as well, helping family and friends celebrate the lives of lost loved ones.

  1. denises long list of should a would a could a’s!!!……let see how about anything creative! too many things are wrapped into that word for me that I would first need a few months to wrap my brain around what I would even like to do. Having two peanuts now pretty much wipes out any chance of doing more than playdoh time with the girls. dont get me wrong I LOVE being able to spend so much time with them while they are little because I hear it goes by fast so for now I find little pleasures in making paper snowflakes and collecting found objects to help inspire Tess to create some things of her own. Just think when they are a little bigger we can all go to flea markets and collect “stuff” to turn into better, cooler “stuff” together! Thanks for blogging Leslie, feels good to “connect” with someone for a minute, even if online. I am glad you are indulging in some of your bliss, very inspiring. xxoo

  2. Enjoyed reading your blog. Why not try writing some short stories and move on to that novel. Best part – WJRT can pay you to stay home and write (unemployment). Enjoy your forecast and comments on FB too.

  3. Start a conversation on how to get over being asked to leave your job and walked out and how to overcome a reputation of being let go…. How do you fill out the application for a potential job, how do you answer these questions, how to over come the rumors floating around your peodfessinal community when it’s not true, being black balled by a previous wmployer. These are all the things I am struggling wih

    • Diane, I think many struggle with some of those issues. Employment in these days is so shaky and uncertain that many are looking for answers on how to combat having the rug pulled out from under, in the work place. Leslie might be able to address some of these, given her reporter experience.

  4. While many of us miss you on channel 12, we believe you are meant for bigger and better things. We see you as a very talented lady and one deserving of better working conditions.
    You have STYLE girl.
I am still wondering what I am going to do when I grow up LOL but know I have a deep interest in research so looking into it and working from home. Any ideas?

Will be continuing to watch you grow.

      • Oh heavens Leslie, I was just kidding, trying to be funny, I am a lady of 71 and happily retired however would like to find something to do for part time on the net for a little extra, especially with Christmas coming up so soon.
        Keep warm

        Judy
